Description:Painkillers If you experience prolonged burning pain after passing stools, your doctor may recommend taking common painkillers, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen which you can buy from a pharmacy or supermarket. These include botulinum toxin injections such as Botox or other brands into the area around the anus back passage or a surgical procedure called spincterotomy. That means that not enough oxygen carried by the blood gets to the fissure or tear. These medications may be taken by mouth or applied externally and may be used when nitroglycerin is not effective or causes significant side effects. The rectum joins to the anus, which is a short tube containing a muscular ring sphincter that can be opened at will to allow the expulsion of faeces poo. GTN works by expanding blood vessels in and around the anus, increasing the blood supply to the fissure and helping it heal faster.
